I got this material today and I need the cupcake square to be a decent size, I was thinking d9p but I am noticing they look really good as more of a scrap quilt. I am open to all suggestions and if the d9p will work, in your opinion, let me know :-) this is for my five year old, I have been making baby quilts for my sisters baby and my baby due in November and she just ask is this for me I say no and she just says aww okay. I just want it to be special! Thanks for all you help. And no colors but the cupcakes are permanent so if you don't like them tell me :-D

I agree with you, I think those would make a great scrappy quilt! Pretty fabrics!

I'd strip piece or 4 patch the other four.

How about Warm Wishes -- its a bit scrappy but you could use the cupcakes as the larger block -- here is one link:

I like the colors you have. If you can get an extra yard of the cupcakes, I'd fussy cut some and incorporate a row of them into the border. I would add 1/4" around the solid color squares and cut then out there if you know what I mean....

I really like the warm wishes!!!! And the fussy cut cupcakes, brilliant idea, I will probably have to go back and buy more fabric but that will be well worth it. Thanks.

I would fussy cut. Too cute to cut up the cakes.

Do you think you'd like a 4-patch posie?
I saw a pic on the internet of a 4-patch posie using teapot or teacup fabric ......it was really cute. http://quiltingtizzy.files.wordpress...4patch2opt.jpg |
What about doing a single irish chain with the tone on tone fabrics and using the cupcake fabric for a wide border? You could also do a rail fence with the tone on tone fabrics and use the cupcakes for the wide border. BTW, I love all the fabrics. Excellent choices!
