Hi fellow quilters
Just wanted to share a hidden UFO that I finished for my mom. (won't tell you how long it had been hidden..lol) I had planned to have it on her bed when she came home from the hospital, but needless to say...I stayed the whole week with her there. Blocks were 2 inches and I sewed through every one, using a low soft batting & a sheet for the backing. Some of the material had been stored in a cedar chest that mom used to make clothes for my older sister. The rest was what I had stored when I was into making dolls complete with dresses...now hooked on quilting. I attempted my own way of attaching the binding, but as I finished I found places where I didn't catch it...hence the feather stitch. Thanks to my hubby. mom's quilt design to set white binding off feather stitch to hide missed binding |
LOVE it! You did a great job!

Looks great! I usually use a similar stitch when I'm making kids quilts. It does hide things well and makes them so pretty no one would know! :)

Thanks so much for your replies. I know it looks more like a 'Fall' quilt but I thought it would cheer her up, which it did.
Later, after I start and finish 4 more quilts for my 2 sets of twins...I will make her one in her favorite color...blue. |
Awww Mom is going to love her beautiful new quilt!!! Good Job :D:D:D

What you gave is more than a quilt. It was a gift from the heart. I hope the blessing stays with all of you for many many years. I am glad your both home from the hospital. Some gifts like the time you gave while your mom was hospitalized.. you simply cant get anywhere else. The quilt is like icing on a cake.
