Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forums... I've been reading a lot in all of the different threads for a few days now and I want to start playing with you all! LOL Sooo, I thought I'd start with some of my pictures. I'm no professional by ANY stretch and in the past I've stuck mostly with crib sized quilts because I can actually quilt those myself. hehehe

We just very recently moved to North Carolina and when we got here I decided that my dining room needed a makeover... and that included new placemats! Here's a close up of 1 out of 6 placemats... it hadn't been washed yet in the picture, so you can still see the white fabric pencil lines in the borders... I bought a stencil to use for some fancier quilting there.

This is the very first quilt I ever made. I started it while in college and I was hand sewing the little hexagons together. It's hilarious how rudimentary the whole beginning was. And I obviously had NO idea what I was doing.... who starts off with a hexagon pattern as their very first quilt?!?!?! But I never finished it.... exactly 10 years later, I decided I would pull it back out. I had a sewing machine by that time, so I finished it by machine. I ended up giving it to my husband's cousin when she had her first baby.

This pattern was fun and simple too, but I thought it looked so sweet when finished!! I forget the name, exactly, but something about Bricks. LOL It's made with 1930's reproduction fabrics and a white tone-on-tone. I made this for one of my best high school friends when she had her first baby (a girl).

This one I made for my mother when she moved into her new house. I told her I'd make a couch throw/twin size quilt for her living room (she lives in Ohio and is always cold), and she should choose her colors. So she picked the color scheme and I picked the pattern. It was the hardest pattern I'd done at that time, so I learned a lot. LOL!!

This is the first of 3 Confetti quilts that I made. All 3 are made from 100% cotton flannel and are the softest things I've ever made. AWESOME!! I made two boy Confetti's and one girl Confetti. I LOVE THEM... and gave all 3 away to people who were having babies.

I love this one!!! Can't bear to give it away, yet. In fact, I've added a white border to this top, but it's not even quilted yet. LOL Another made from 1930's reproduction fabrics in a baby-sized Friendship Star pattern. Love it.

I participated in a round robin... I made my center and then sent it, along with all the remaining fabric to the next person on the list. This is what I got back. The top is all wrinkly... I never made anything with it.

I told my Dad that I'd make him a quilt too.... and he had zero requests as to color or pattern or anything. SO... I tried my hand at a Bargello pattern that I'd seen at a quilt show in Charleston. This is just the center piece... it now has borders on it, too. I never finished it tho!! Poor Dad! LOL

I made these for a Swapper's Choice block swap one time. 4 Bear's Paws
