My mom is a member of the historical society in Florence, Wisconsin and this year the group decided to put on a quilt show. I was invited to help set up and answer questions and watch the quilts on the day of the show.

The group put articles in the local papers and some gorgeous antique quilts were offered, plus some of the more prolific local quilters loaned a lot of contemporary or Thimbleberry type quilts. And my mom had at least a dozen to bring in- she's an awesome quilter. We ended up with over 70 quilts to show.

The show was held in an old Victorian house that has been restored so the house was worth walking through on it's own. We displayed the quilts all throughout the house, draped on chairs or beds, wherever we could fit them. I realized after we cleaned up that I only took a few pics. So I will post those and if I can get more pics from anyone else I will add those later.

The ladies outside reported that many of the people who were leaving said it was the nicest show the area had ever had. They said it was wonderful to see the quilts laid out like that. YAY! I grinned like a fool all day- it was so much fun to answer questions- and to be able to handle some of the beautiful quilts... well, that was a treat, too!

This quilt is made from a little girl's baby jammies. The maker fussy cut the little patches out of them. It's the softest sweetest thing.

This was an absolutely gorgeous cathedral windows quilt. The lady on the left is the maker. She said it took 3 years.
