Here is where I am on my Bowtie quilt. The bowtie is still paper because I want to get the OBW blocks together to make sure I have the size of the bowtie right. And I have decided to try to stuff it. I will quilt some batting to a piece of muslin, and sew it together with the bowtie and turn it, before I applique the bowtie on. This way the bowtie will be smooth and unquilted (possibly the inside lines?) but still have a bit of dimension to it. I decided it needs more colored hexes though so I am cutting triangles now. And I need to make more black hexes to fill in the edges as well.
Having so much fun with this one! Just making it up as I go along :)

Great layout of the OBW blocks using them as a frame for the center.

And I'm looking forward to seeing the finished trapuntoed bowtie.
