My sister asked me to make her a purse 12 in. wide, 10 1/2 in. tall with a strap 21 in. made out of diagonal striped squares. So here it is! I sewed the strips to muslin, sewed the blocks together & lined it with 2 pockets on the lining. She loves it. Was fun to make.

Thanks everyone. I didn't have a pattern. Just sewed the strips to 4 inch muslin squares to equal 12 inches by 10 1/2 inches. Quilted the 2 outer pieces to a cotton batting. Sewed the lining the same size & put pockets on it. I left a corner open on the bottom of the lining then did that pinching thing on the other lining corner & the 2 outer layer bottom corners & sewed diagonally to create a flat bottom. Added a strap & sewed it together around the top right sides together then pulled it right side out thru the lining hole. Velcro closure. Done. Was fun. Mailed it out to Oklahoma today.

That's great that you designed the purse yourself. I like to design my own items, too. You never mess up like that....just think...oh, I think I'll change this or that now. lol!

Great work!
