I am trying to figure out a way to do quilt as you go without hand sewing or using strips on the back. I don't always like to use sashing. Anyway, I kind of like the way the stitching makes a secondary line of quilting. I am still just practicing.

Very nice. I have been wanting to try the QAYG method myself. I agree about the sashing. Not all quilts need it, some look better without.

I'll try. I'm not very good at written instructions but maybe lots of pictures will help. Thanks for the encouragement. I love quilt as you go but don't like the hand stitching. I think it is not sturdy enough to stand up under constant use.
