I got an invite to a baby shower and decided to 'whip' up a quilt with some left over flannel I had. I machine pieced and then hand quilted. The batting I used was too thick but in the end it turned out okay. I had 12 days from the time I received the invite to when I needed it done. Call me crazy, but somehow I finished it. Hope the mom/baby love it!

Back - pieced with the last of the leftovers.

Wow, speed quilter extrodinaire! I am so slow, I could never get one done that quickly unless I had an entire week off from work! You did a great job. Those are perfect flannels for a baby quilt. I love how you bound it, looks like satin??

I bought 2" satin binding. I needed quick and easy and I think babies love satin bindings.

Great idea and work! I will have to remember that. I have some of the footprint/ handprint fabric also. Used it when our triplets were tiny babies, and they are now 9 y/o. LOL Who thinks I keep things a long time!

You may not have wanted to the batting to be so thick, but I love the puffiness of it. Just looking at it you know it's soft and cuddly.
