This quilt was done by a friend when she was young and had her babies. She did all the cars embroidery by hand and set them into blocks. She has stage 4 cancer and is on the highest form of treatment left. She wanted to give the two quilts she made to her kids for Christmas. I quilted them for her with my long arm. I drew in the antique cars, stop light and put a octogan around the cars. She loved it and so did her husband. He didn't know if he wanted to give it to the kids or not. This one means a lot to me. I know it isn't up to some of the beautiful quilts I have seen on here but I made her happy. Thanks for looking at this quilt.
Sorry this is sideways but this is the whole quilt. Block with stop light. Cars in border and sashing. Another closer one. |
Oh how beautiful, both the quilt and story behind it. Your friend is lucky to have the quilt and a loving friend in you.
