Quilt for Kids
1 Attachment(s)
completed my first "quilt for kids" quilt. The Chapter in PA sent all the fabric and instructions. I just needed to buy batting and quilt it. They ask that I make a second from my own stash, which I am happy to do. Does anyone know if there is a chapter in Iowa or Nebraska. The postage is so much.... I would rather spend money on fabric than postage next time.

Great quilt. Love the colors and pattern.

Darling quilt, good job. I understand about the postage. After making some quilts for QFK I decided to concentrate on quilts for local guilds instead. They get distributed in the community, and don't have to be mailed.

Very pretty and bright. Any child would love this.

Tell the post office what you are doing...and see if there is a discount for this kind of thing. Worth a try. Thanks for sharing.

I felt the same way about the postage so I checked their website and they have an area to put in your location to see if there is a local chapter. In my area there was so I delivered the next ones directly and saved the passage. Hopefully you have one in your area also.

There are guilds in several Nebraska & Iowa towns, I am sure most of them do kids quilts, maybe different group than you have done. The Quilts for Kids website shows they have local chapters in Lincoln NE and Ames IA.

Great job!
