I have many quilts that my DGM made for me when I was growing up. She never did anything fancy but I didn't care they came from her and that was all that mattered to me.
Today I was at my folks house going thru my stuff in their basement. I had a tub with a trash bag stuffed in it and when I pulled it out it had 2 quilts I had never seen. My DM said they were my Brother's but she wanted me to have them, she gave some to my sisiter too. My DB does not appreciate things and they would have been lost forever. I brought one of them home because it will fit on my bed. I have never seen some of the prints in this quilt and just had to show it to you all as I know you all will appreciate it as much as I do. front and back some of the prints front |

I'm glad that you found some treasured quilts from your DGM! She made them to be used and appreciated and you definitely will.

Oh I want to snuggle in. That is so special.

What a treasure! Think of all the hours she put into it!

It's in the wash right now but I can't wait to put it on my bed.
|
What a special quilt! I bet you sleep good tonight snuggled in it.

Looks lovely and cosy...

I never knew my grandparents on my mothers side but they made all their own linen they even had silk worms to make silk threads to weave, it was all lost in the war when they were murdered by the nazis. only my mother and uncle survived, so treasure them for ever |
Carrie the quilt is so pretty.
