Not enough that there are designprogramms out there, even more stunning to me is the fact that there are people able to work with them!
I help myself with the neat copier of DH. All you see besides the middle part is made of paper. The 3D pinwheels will be in different colors also and I tend to the pyramids. Would apreciate input, maybe even another border. Granny lots of "fabric" to work with superfast piecing and now? HST, solid blocks or pyramides?? |
Very clever!!! :D:D:D
You ARE a very fast piecer  :lol: I really like this design!!! :D:D:D |
wow, you are doing a great job, thanks for sharing!
|
? what did you do with your DH copier, please explain
|
I like the pyramids!
|
Holy Gee...it's like making a quilt twice! It looks absolutely fabulous! Can't wait to see it done. I am sure cutting out paper is alot faster than cutting fabric...but it is pretty cool to see what it will look like and be able to move things around. Is the paper quilt actual size or a tabletop miniature!? :)

Is that fabric or paper? If it's fabric how are you going to wash it?

I made copies from each fabric and the only 3D pinwheel I have so far
how about the pyramids facing each other - with or without sashing? |
I think the pyramids facing each other gives it this really neat, almost 3-D look.
And I like the sashing! I like it the way the bottom picture is :) |
wow! I would never have thought of doing it that way! i have a laser printer with plenty of ink. I think I might have to do some playing around!
|
You are very smart. I think a sashing between the pinwheels and the pyramids might look nice and add a little pop to the whole design. But that is just my opinion. Otherwise it is beautiful.

Just make sure to get all 505 off the copier, refill paper and hide all the waste before DH comes home  |
your DH doesn't know what you did to his copier, oh no!!!!

That is so clever  Like the bottom picture , just something about all the way it pulls together

Just "made" the corner. The sashing has to be 2 1/4 inch in order to get around with the pinwheels. Split it into two colors of solid??
|
I personally like just the one yellow :) keeps it bright and cheery!

Sorry for breaking my promise and thank you so much for helping me brainstorming
how about the printed green, kind of repetition to the rather dominant green angle below? |
I think I like the printed green better :)

first yellow and then green....................I will let it sack over night as it is midnight over here and on the quiltlabel I will add the Quilt Board as designer............
thanks so much |
I think it's going to look fantastic!
|
Lovely!

Hello Granny_59 - your idea of printing fabrics onto paper and then cut and playing with paper, is a good one, but would not like to see DH's face when he finds out all the ink has been used LOL Nice to plan ahead with real colours though.
|
I like the printed border then the yellow! It looks like a stop border. The ther way around the yellow gets lost as a border.
|
I like the border you have on display. Looks good with the rest of the quilt. I like your design.
|
That's so cool!

   No actually you dont need that much copies, one page of every color gets you very far. After "piecing" a block you might want to copie the block, all in all I made about 25 copies because of the big number of the fabric involved. @basketlady: I never considered a sashing a stopper but you are so right! I will do it that way. Thank you so much to all. Granny |
