Seems as though my time for quilting has been slowed down here of late... I have projects that are getting done inch by inch. Some of you seem to fly through projects... I am a slow one. Summer has a way of slowing me down.

Reminds me of visiting my relatives in the south. How sweet.

I thought that was what summer is all about. We cant grow the garden in the snow but we can quilt. Love your garden. We can sit down and stich after the canning along with harvest is done. :thumbup:Looks like you are already ahead of the game.

Would you be interested in coming to my house and doing my flower beds for me??? I'm allergic and your flowers are so beautiful! I'll trade you LA quilting for it!!!!!

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 07-18-2011 08:20 AM

Your yard is too pretty to be inside sewing. Save the sewing for nights, nasty days, and winter. Enjoy that great yard while you can. Maybe a hand project for the front porch?

blueangel 07-18-2011 08:21 AM

Beautiful flowers. Not a good year for flowers here in hot Kansas.

susiequilt 07-18-2011 08:27 AM

Lovely! Cold winter is perfect for quilting.

Hey neighbor, your flower beds are beautiful and your quilt projects will not get up and run away. Enjoy each of them as you have time.

grammajojo 07-18-2011 08:39 AM

Beautiful yard and garden. Enjoy it, winter gets here soon enough.

QUILTNMO 07-18-2011 08:41 AM

Tweety2911 07-18-2011 08:41 AM

Lovely home, garden and quilting studio!

scrapykate 07-18-2011 08:45 AM

What fun you are having!! I love to garden and often use colors I find there to influence my color selections. I have to hang out inside in the middle of the day, just hot to do anything but quilt and maybe clean, maybe...

And in VA. I spent alot of young years in and out of VA. My sister went to college in Farmville, then married and raised her family there. My husband and our family camped for 20 years in Stanton, in our secret campground even took our DGK back to see the camping spot and camped there with them....lots of good memories there.....

Beautiful gardens and quilts. What is the name of the big star quilt on the wall to the left. It takes me a while to whip out a project too.

Your home is lovely, your garden immaculate, and your quilting delightful. Makes me want to come visit!

emerald46 07-18-2011 11:07 AM

I have a hard time staying in when the weather is perfect for gardening. Of course, here in Texas, we haven't had that since April...just before the drought and heat wave. Your yard is just gorgeous and looks like you are in a wonderfully peaceful area! Enjoy! Thanks for sharing!

TGood 07-18-2011 05:38 PM

How about a cup of tea?

and the quilting space.

RkayD 07-18-2011 06:04 PM

Beautiful! WHAT is that on your design walls?? Would like to see more of both...please? Thank you =)

I LOVE Va..my hub is from there..we used to have a home in Keswick..thinking seriously about moving back.

SueSew 07-18-2011 06:58 PM

It isn't the production, it's the journey, the satisfaction, the adventure of trying a new thing. Besides, you've got awesome house and vegetable gardens and largest squash leaves ever seen! There is nothing more lush than a healthy garden in July, with everything crowding itself out, all waiting for the first tomatoes to ripen.
I just picked final peas, first eggplant and summer squash and zucchini and kale and Windsor beans. Left quilt on table!
To everything in its season!

Krystyna 07-19-2011 03:07 AM

Too lovely outside to quilt. I love your sewing room however -- must be nice in winter!

Babs194068 07-19-2011 03:23 AM

Busy lady. Love your flowers and the vegetable garden

thequilteddove 07-19-2011 03:24 AM

the front of your home is gorgeous! You wanna come do some landscape'n 4 me?

PS gorgeous quilts too :)

and @ the risk of get'n my head rotary cut off there are other things in life besides quilting lol Last year I completed only one quilt! None so far this year... altho I get a little done on many tops lol I've been have'n an issue with stay interested/focused on any one thing particular (plus business takes most of my time when I don't have the grandkids... plus hubby's retired now & well if he thinks he's gonna go golf'n every day w/o me hummph! and, and, well gotta spend time with 'the ladies'. Oh and isn't it a nice day to go for a walk? And, and hows about we go to the lake and watch people walk by!?! lol) Seems I got so much more done when I worked a regular 9-5 job lol so much to do, so little time.

I'm with you. I try to spend a lot of my time outdoors in the summer when the weather is nice. We have had rain the last 4 days so the weeds are getting a head start on me again! :D

MelodyWB 07-19-2011 06:17 AM

Nor gardens, nor livestock or anything else here in Texas. Thanks for a reminder of what Summer should look like.
