Quilting Organizer
3 Attachment(s)
First I have to confess. I had made an organizer and lost the instructions somewhere in my patterns when I put it all away in december. I found the picture and plastic sleeve it came in and nothing else. But, I had these left over fabric scraps from my rythum and blues quilt and I wanted to use them up for something I could use. I loved working with these colors. The center on the outside is crazy patch of the scraps so I would have enough to make this organizer.
So, I put the pockets and zippers where I wanted them and improvised as I went along. The handle came out good, but it isn't as cute as the original pattern had. But, all in all I am happy with it. I chose the straps that tie at the bottom so it would expand and I could fit much more bulky stuff in it too. Still... I sure wish I could find the instructions. I guess I will someday and have myself a good little laugh at where I had put it. |
Who needs a pattern? It looks great!

I agree, it is gorgeous!
Your fabrics are wonderful! You did an awesome job!
looks great:thumbup:
nicely done
Wow I love it, you really did a great job if you did not use a pattern, which must have gone to the big black hole in quilt space
Looks like you don't need the pattern...you did a wonderful job without one.
very pretty!!!
It's great. You didn't need the pattern...lol. They always show back up when you don't need them. Threaten to buy a new pattern and I bet it will show up.
very nice job!!!!
It looks good. Love the fabric.
Great job on making this without a pattern! It looks wonderful, cheerful and colors make you smile!
Thanks so much everyone! I just spent some time filling it up with spare sewing things in case I want to take it to a class or take it on vacation with me. I made a matching needle case to go with it and filled that up too. Now I think just a sleeve or case for my combination cutting and ironing mat and mini iron and I would be set to go most any where and be happily sewing. Well... I still don't have a 221, but, that would be dreaming on my part. LOL!
Oh! If I remade this, I would exchange the way I did the ties and loop. It seems backwards to me. |
You certainly did an excellent job for not having a pattern to follow.
Our quilt guild made some of those this past month, I liked theirs, but yours is soooo cute. The quilting is great too, keep up the good work. It is so great to make things we can use, I made a quilted check book cover. I need to make another one, because the one I made is getting old looking. I am spending time crocheting things for the last few months (afghans, and hats) for newborns in need. Thank you for sharing with us.

This turned out great, you must have remembered alot of what the pattern said, even tho you improvised. I am at a loss for 'sewing projects' without a pattern or tute.

Just think you can find your pattern now, but forget it your original is great!!!! Job well done
It is adorable and useful too. Who needs a pattern, when you can make it how you want and thus more functional.
Nice job. I hate it when I can't find a pattern but never fear it will turn up.
Very nice. I have one that holds my paint brushes and will stand and one for crochet hooks that rolls up
you were probably meant to misplace that pattern so you could make this wonderful organizer. it's very pretty!!!
