The quilts that finally arrived

2 Attachment(s)
These are the quilts that I sent to my friend that I was not allowed to insure and then went missing....everything arrived in a plastic bag but were not damaged. Sorry about the size of the pictures, these are the only ones I could get to upload. And again, thanks to all, you kept my spirits high and positive.

They are beautiful!!! I am so glad they arrived without damage!!!!

Tartan 01-10-2013 08:56 AM

So glad they finally turned up!! Good thing you put them in a plastic bag before boxing? Did you include the address inside the plastic bag or did they manage to locate them and forward them to your friend without the address?

Diane007 01-10-2013 09:50 AM

it would be interesting if they could tell the storey of their travel

nice

MaryMo 01-10-2013 10:55 AM

Your story is inspiring ... sometimes good things do happen to good people. And the post office can make things right.
Thank you for sharing the rest of the story!

oh munner 01-10-2013 11:53 AM

Why were you NOT allowed to insure these quilts? Makes no sense to me.

KwiltyKahy 01-12-2013 05:50 AM

Happy that they turned up. I'm curious as to why they couldn't be insured, too.

So glad the arrived,,,,,,,,,in one piece and no damage. Such a scare to think all the hard work for someone special would go missing. Prayers answered!

MargeD 01-12-2013 07:50 AM

So glad that although they didn't reach their original destination, you got them back. The next time someone tells you that you don't need to insure a package, especially quilts, ignore them. I always insure quilts, even small baby quilts, as I've put a lot of time, material and effort into making them.

JoanneS 01-12-2013 08:04 AM

Whew! Thank goodness they arrived. Did the PO tell you what happened to delay them?

milikaa1 01-12-2013 08:17 AM

When I went to mail them, the post office clerk asked what was inside (I have never been asked that), I being honest told him, the post office clerk said I was not allowed to insure them because they had no value....being so close to Christmas I mailed them any way since I had never had a problem....what a mistake....I always insure my quilts, I knew better....the box they were in was damaged badly but they still made their way :), I would assume the box got caught one of their machines because of the condition of the box.

bibi 01-12-2013 08:30 AM

I am so glad that they arrived. These are very beautiful.

kellen46 01-12-2013 08:36 AM

This is why I go to UPS to mail my quilts, yes the lady behind the counter always asks and yes she always insures them for me. Now this lady is a friend, and recently asked me for a quilt for the child of one of her employees. It seems her dad is a disabled vet with a quilt of valor that he treasures greatly. His daughter wanted her own quilt as well because of his. I also love how with UPS I can track the package on line and know for sure it is delivered. All my quilts go UPS and two of the children of UPS employees have quilts of their own because of it.

PolkaBabe 01-12-2013 08:38 AM

Happy they showed up, but I have a question. Why were you not allowed to insure them? This makes no sense.

dd55 01-12-2013 08:53 AM
