Hi! This spring my youngest son filled two bags for Good Will and one was a bag full of his jeans. Well, I just finished this raggy denim and flannel quilt for his extra long twin bed at college. I recycled his jeans for him and just in time for the cold weather and his birthday! I even made 2 pillows to match.

I don't see where you stitched across each square?

Since I only used the denim and flannel and didn't have batting, I skipped that step.

Love it!! I'm saving jeans too!

Hmmm. I'd worry the flannel would shift a lot during use and washing and could unravel at the seams. The sewing is to stabilize the fabrics, even if you don't use batting...

I love it. I love denim quilts! I like your flannel colors, too.

When the other kids comment on his unique quilt he will tell them that his mom made it and he will feel mighty special. We can't go to college with them, but they will think about us often.
