I finished piecing this and am just waiting to do a few practice quilts before I put this one on the frame. It's 49x68.
I originally was going to give it to a teacher for an end of year, but decided against it - she's a 1st grade teacher that we love but I started to think hmmm... word will get around... I better not give this to her cause down the line other teachers might say hey, why didn't I get a quilt??!! So I made her a few market bags and included a gift card to the local grocery store. She loved the bags. She said she has been trying to go green so it was just perfect! :) Anyhooo... I haven't decided what pantograph I'm going to use yet. I've been going through designs at quiltrecipes and have yet to fully decide. This quilt will end up becoming a QOV quilt I'm sure - or for the local hospital :) |
Great Job
And how generous of you to remember the teacher, they are so under appreciated  |

Nice quilt! I am also interested in seeing the market bags you've made. Can you post a pic, or link? That is a great idea to give as a gift!

What a beautiful quilt. You did a wonderful job on it. It's so nice when the teachers are remembered.

Beautiful quilt!

Remember - I didn't end up giving her this quilt.
I do agree that teachers should be remembered. Two years ago when Logan had the same teacher Collin had this past year (school's done for the year here) she got showered with gifts. I believe I'm the only one who sent in a present at the end of the year... The school started teacher appreciation week here and I think the parents are now doing that instead an end of year gift so they get their loot a few weeks before school is over... and yes, they send home letters with *suggestions* on what to give your teacher for every day of that week - VERY tacky. I don't participate in the teacher appreciation week and go for the end of year gift instead.... I'm glad that I didn't finish and give her the quilt though. I know that it would get around the school that I give out quilts as end of year gifts and that's not good.... every teacher would expect to get one... |
Great job!
