Hello! I made this quilt top, today. I used the "Tranquility" fabrics by Moda. I love the 'retro' look of these panels and all of the coordinating fabrci. It's a lap quilt (53" x 66"). Took about 8 hours to cut and piece (it was my weekend project). Now, that it's pieced, I will take it to the LQS to quilt and bind because I'm way to anxious and am itching to get started on a new quilt top I've been dying to make. (I know, I'm bad). Hi Sharon! Thank you for your kind words. I made up a "pattern." There were six birds that came in one panel. You can see where I placed them on the quilt top. Then, I just cut strips 2 1/2" wide for the sashing. The 'opposing' blocks are made up of one large rectangle (8 1/4" x 12"); one smaller rectangle (6 1/4" x 4 1/4") and a square (4 1/4" x 4 1/4").

Thanks so much! I just chose coordinating fabrics from the same line. The line came out sometime in February / March. I bet your LQS will still have some bolts of this fabric. It had quickly sold at our LQS. I was fortunate to grab some before it disappeared.

Good for you!! I'm the same way! I love the friendships and relationships I've developed with the ladies that work at my LQS. I can't imagine not supporting them, whenever possible. It's already hard enough for LQS' to stay open when the economy is good. Imagine how much they're struggling, right now.

I bought one panel of the bird panels; 1/2 yard of each of eight coordinating fabrics; 1 1/4 yd of the border stripe fabric; 3 5/8 yards for the backing; 1 yard for the binding.
