Everyone commented on this quilt top and asked for directions on how I did it. So I will post some pics.
All you need are completed Friendship Star blocks, these were 12.5 square, (I had two diffenent blocks that I used, see pic of 1st and 2nd block) and I cut them into quarter sections and then mixed them up and sewed them back together. Any left overs I used for the border as half blocks. I hope you find this easy to understand. I bet you could try this with any block that you don't like or don't know what to do with. Have fun and take a chance, I did. Thanks again for all your comments, it really means alot to get such encouragement from fellow quilters. (just think, first I cut fabric up to make the FS blocks, then I cut the fabric up again to make new blocks, we quilters sure cut things up alot!) Interesting idea. Would like to see it completed. Saw something recently and I think it had similar concept. If so it's going to look beautiful!

Looks like the D9P concept. Very nice.

I did post the finished quilt top, look under Pictures, Scattered Friendship Quilt Top.

Thanks for sharing how you did this. I was rather enthralled when you posted the pic of the finished top. This makes it all clear.

Excellent idea. You really designed a winner.
