Scrambled 9-Patch from batkis
2 Attachment(s)
This is top number 3 finished in 2013! I am doing a little stash bashing! I had a collections of batik fat quarters that I decided to finally use. I made this scrambled 9-patch using a black on black print for the original center. There are 28 different batiks in this top. I am not sure if I will add a border or not. It is 87 by 87 right now. Any suggestions on a border? Thanks for looking.

It is lovely. Now I want to build a Batik stash. Thanks for sharing.

Very Nice. Love the Disapearing 9 patch...
I just love batiks! The colors are always so fresh!
Really pretty!!!!! Wow 3 tops in 8 days that is fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What about using black for your border, it would match the small black sq.
Very nice way to use your batiks.
I just love those batiks....they are so pretty. Beautiful quilt :)
I love your quilt. Believe it or not, I don't have any batiks in my stash. After seeing your quilt, I might just have to start building one.
I like that a lot and the use of black really sets off the other colors nicely making them sparkle.
it's great... i wouldn't add a border
Beautiful! I would use the same black for the border as you used for the center blocks to set off all the color.
Very pretty D9P
If you think it needs a border I think a black border would be the best choice.
It doesn't need borders. A black binding would look nice.

oh all those lovely colors just make you want to dive in!!!
You must be working around the clock to get 3 tops done so quickly!! Beautifully done!
Sew pretty! The addition of the black is great! Perhaps use it for a thin border, then choose a favorite color for the outer border~~ Just a thought.
The black makes the batiks shine, a black border would be pretty!
I love batiks and D9P is one of my favorite patterns! Great quilt. I'm going to look for your other 2013 quilts! :D
Another gorgeous scrappy. Well done.
Border with black!!! Gorgeous!
very cool and colorful.
Nicely done.

Nicely done!

Great job! Definitely a black border. You could piece six inch strips of the various batiks and make a multi-colored inner border. It would be a lot of work but nice.
Love it. i have always controlled my colors, only 3, and now want to make one with tons of colors.
Gorgeous! If you want a border, I agree with the black, or a narrow black inner border & your favorite of one of the other fabrics.
I think a black border would look great!
I'd go with black for the border to pull that color out.
Definitely does not require a border unless you need it bigger. I vote for something in black though with maybe some other color mixed in with it....you know how they do these batiks.
I vote no binding. Black binding will finish it off nicely. This looks similar to the Turning Twenty batik quilt top I made. It is in my ufo pile. I need to quilt it.
very pretty batik...i have an addiction to buying batiks that goes back 10 yrs. or so this would be a good use of scraps from over the years....thanks for posting

I'm not up for reading all the responses this morning, but it's a BEAUTIFUL quilt, and one that really doesn't even need a border, unless you feel it needs to be bigger. I think sometimes it's good to just "leave well enough alone" as my dear Mother used to say!
beautiful top-awesome batiks.
its modern and fresh. i think i would eliminate the border completely and just possibly use a black or a dark blue for the binding?
I think a burnt orange sashing would be just beautiful
That is one beautiful quilt!!
