Selvage quilt
2 Attachment(s)
From Karen Griska's book, my take on the Silk Cigar Ribbon quilt. Just the flimsy but couldn't wait any longer to share :o. Sorry for the bad pics I'll take better ones after it's quilted. I cannot thank enough all the board members who have sent me selvages to help fuel my creative juices.

Whoa!!! That's beautiful AND fun to look at.
|
Very nice quilt.....
|
Neat idea!

Great quilt so far, love the beadwork, too! How kind of those who sent their selvage edges.:) I never cut mine off before I trim from a strip when I sew, because having the edges left on helps me quickly determine where the straight grain of the fabric is.

That is beautiful and awesome. I have been saving my selvage ever since I saw a mug rug made out of them here on this board. My daughter has tried many time to throw them away. She calls me a pack rat. Can't wait to show her your quilt.

This is inspiring me to work with the selvages I've been saving! As far as quilting how about some strong diagonal lines to enhance the center medallion to this lovely quilt. A cross hatching type of design.
PS Thanks jammin jane for resurfacing this thread. I would have missed it otherwise. |
