The Sew-in for the Military Barracks Quilt Project for the soldiers in Farah, Afghanistan, was held last weekend in Bedford VA. Three QB members were present from out-of-town/state; Sue and Joanne are in the photos, Tammy arrived Saturday morning and missed these shots taken the first part of the first day.

We had so much fun sewing and completing quilts, then ringing the bell and drawing door prizes while blessing our soldiers. Wish you all could have been there!

Please bear with me while I load as many as I can, there are lots and lots I could share.

Actually my name was drawn from the door prize basket though I had asked the sign in table not to put it there; a $25 restaurant gift certificate, yummy!

I'm sorry these are loading SO slowly, I'm struggling to send you the ones I want to of the quilts. I guess the internet trafic is increased now due to the hour.

I agree! I'm glad I could at least send a quilt to help, but it would have been fun to be there in person to work with you.

Let’s see if more will load…

We had about 40 workers rotate in and out over the two full days, even some who were just visiting the Welcome Center and stayed a couple of hours to help!

About 22 quilts were completed. We are getting really close to our goal of 128 men covered in the Forward Operating Base in Farah. Thank you for your help!!
