Well look what I bought at an estate sale. There is one problem, my machine doesn't fit. I was looking for a table that had the machine set down in it with the spring mechanisim. But for $35.00 I thought that this was a deal. Well when I got it home and cleaned it up. Well now I am stuck. Does anyone know if I am able to make my machine fit in it now and do you know if i would be able to change it for the mechanisim? I really like the table and even if I can't change it I just want my machine to fit.

By the way I did put the handles back on. They just happened to come unscrewed. I just need to do a little work to it and it will look like new again. The top drawer has 6 spool rods too.

I did a search for what I meant when I was talking about a mechanism. I meant that I want a touch lift put in it if it is possible.

I also inherited a great machine cabinet, and my machine didn't fit in it. My DH wound up screwing a piece of wood into the bottom to lift my machine up so that it was flush with the top surfact of the cabinet, and he had to cut out the pieces on top that fit around the machine. There's no mechanism to lift it up. My machine stays set up all the time. The only problem is that if I need to get into the area under the needle to change a bobbin or something, I have to lift up the hinged top surfaces. Kind of a pain in the butt, but worth it considering that I got the cabinet for free and it's full of great storage.

I had one just like that. The old late 1950's singer fit in it perfectally. It was on hinges and could put it down into the cabinet. Also was a place for the food control to fit and I ran the machine with a knee bar. (now I have trouble with the lift knee bar for my new Bernina cause it is a different function) My Pfaff never fit into it and just 3 mos ago I took the cabinet back to my mom cause I have all new stuff. Still have the sewing machine though. Good luck on getting your machine to work in there. Hope you can.

If you or your hubby are good with tools or someone you know, should be able to make a bigger hole for your machine. Does the platform go up and down? If so, that's a heck of a buy. The stuff needed to have the platform moveable is about $400.00, they have them moveable on some of the newer tables. Even if it doesn't move, I think you still got a good buy. quilter j, i also bought this one for $35.00 but no lift or mechanisms on it and neither of my machines fit so a guy friend just made me a piece of wood to fit the hole and i just leave it up all the time with my 1970 model kenmore on it, i just throw a cloth over the machine to keep dust off.
but i do hope you can get yours fixed like you want it to be, i think you got a good deal anyhow.
