i meant background fabric..the whiteish one. it looks like a small print maybe? whatever it is, you got the perfect color combo!

Really nice. I think an orange border would really make the quilt pop!

BZEQUILTER 06-10-2011 06:06 AM

Love it--Just had help this week finding the pattern. Gotta order today!!

debcavan 06-10-2011 06:07 AM

That looks interesting. Can't wait to see it done

MamaBear61 06-10-2011 06:08 AM

Very nice, I like the idea of a tan border, but if you like the brighter colours go for them.

oma66 06-10-2011 06:39 AM

The 3d effect is awesome. Wonderful quilt.

Nettie Phillips 06-10-2011 05:06 PM

Pretty.

cbridges22 06-10-2011 05:25 PM

NICE!

CompulsiveQuilter 06-11-2011 03:40 AM

WONDERFUL QUILT! I love the shadow box pattern! Borders - I would do first border in tan (probably same size as sashing, else very thin), final border in the medium green, all with black binding.

ghquilter53 06-11-2011 03:47 AM

I've made 2 of these quilts...one for my mother and one for me. I'd vote for orange in the border...or at least for a small inner border.

sawsan 06-11-2011 04:04 AM

I love it and green which i like always

stichinluvr 06-11-2011 05:50 AM

I think you need an orange border. It's a beautiful quilt.

btiny36 06-11-2011 06:18 AM

great job...I love this pattern...have made it twice already...make sure to share the end result...

4girlsmimi 06-11-2011 06:24 AM

Looking good. I like the shadow box look. Can't wait to see the finished quilt. Keep us posted.

Grandma Peg 06-11-2011 06:39 AM

Beautiful quilt.

IBQUILTIN 06-11-2011 08:45 AM

Gonna be pretty. Be sure to post a final shot

lollygagging 06-11-2011 08:51 AM

Great effect! Looks like a strip of sashing is missing between the second and third blocks in the fifth row from the left. Would hate it if it was mine and I'd completed assembling the entire quilt before I noticed the oversight. I love the overall effect and believe an orange border would be pretty. Great work.

Marge L. 06-11-2011 08:53 AM

Orange.

trolleystation 06-11-2011 09:01 AM

I would choose green for the border.

quilt gramma 06-11-2011 10:40 AM

Yes it was just laid out on my floor to see how my color strips matched and i made sure i checked it all . Apprec as yah i woudl have been upset if i had it all done and noticed a mistake - would have been a frog rip it rip rip it my saying ..

Sallyflymi 06-11-2011 10:52 AM

great job. Can't wait to see finished quilt. Keep going.

tigertillman 06-11-2011 12:34 PM

that is so great I am really wanting to make one of these beautiful quilts, I hope mine comes out as nice as yours

JCL in FL 06-11-2011 01:25 PM

I can't tell if your dark is black or not but I'd use that to frame it out and the maybe a small border of one of the brighter colors and bind it in the black. It's looking good.

GramaLaura 06-11-2011 05:21 PM

Wow....looks hard to make :D

audsgirl 06-11-2011 11:21 PM

That's a neat quilt! I like the tan sashing. It gives the quilt the right amount of spark.

After looking again at your quilt, I think a black border directly on your quilt center would take the shadow away from the outer blocks, I'd do a bright 2" border then do the black. I think black borders really frame a quilt out that already has black in it. Just my humble opinion, and what do I know!!
