Sharing My Excitement - First Sewing/Quilting Project
 

Under the mentorship of a close friend, the internet and many of you people, I am doing four pillow covers for my sofa with Amy Butler fabrics. I am sharing a pic of my first two rows sewn all together (on the left), as well as the next pillow I've got pieced out. So excited about this, because it is fun and I adore the fabric. Sorry the color is not very accurate on the first and the second is so dark--I don't have a flash on my camera. - Karen

Thanks! A funny thing is, I've already fallen in love with another set of her fabrics, bought some and am planning a queen size quilt. First things first, though, of course! Before I do the queen quilt I will finish the pillows and use the rest of this fabric for a little throw/lap quilt.

They will be wonderful when you complete them!

:) I will have to tell everyone who sits on my sofa to sit gently against them, hahaha.

They look great, well done. I smiled when I read how excited you are. It stays with you. I still get excited with my projects even after several years of quilting. Oh, these are going to be gorgeous! I love Amy Butler fabrics. I think it was her fabrics that really were the final straw that got me into quilting.

Nice to "meet" other Amy Butler fans! She is the reason I am here doing this. I could save up money and buy things that others are making with her fabrics that I like, or I can spend less money and make things of my own with her fabric and love them because I designed them. I am pleased to have discovered the latter option. It took forever for it to dawn on me, though. Thank you all so much for the positive vibes and the welcomes. I love sharing these here. :) :)
