I bought a stashbuster book for ideas to use up fabric BUT could not resist making this from the book. Of course I had to buy suitable greens, and then I found stone wall look fabric for a border on the internet, waiting for.
So defeated the objective really - but I think this will make a nice hanging for one of the bedroom walls, do you think? I will post when its finished.

Stunning! Makes me want to applique because this has turned out so nice. But I"m a sheep lover anyway. Grew up on a farm and I raised about a gazillion doggie lambs on the bottle!

OH, that is too cute!
I have a friend in Australia that has a sheep farm. Would LOVE to make a quilt with those cute little sheep on it for her.
What book is it???

The book is Lynne Edwards' Stash-Buster Quilts. The pattern for the sheep is given full size, so no enlarging to do.

It's a smile maker--it just doesn't get any cuter than that! :D I had twin boys in my class last year--sons of a sheep farmer--boy would that fit in their house!!

How did you do the legs?

Katrine 07-12-2008 04:48 AM

Black fabric, HeatnBond lite, then blanket stitched as the rest. I cut only the outline of the HeatnBond for the bigger parts so the sheep are not stiff.
My border fabric of the stonewalling arrived today, so I doing that now.
