Yes, that middle picture seems to show the Centennial badge. Makes it more valuable.

Here's a link to a photo of a Centennial badge. Click on the photo to get an enlarged version that shows the detail:

Keep them for sure! Old Singers are great.

If you decide you don't want these , I only live 100 miles away. Brenda

I do not know my vintage machines, but they look like 99s to me.

LeslieFrost 03-21-2011 04:57 PM

Definitely keep them! They sew like war horses. Since you are getting them as a gift, it would be a good investment to find someone nearby to overhaul them for you -- oil, adjust, tune up, etc.

The one with the blonde cabinet or the first picture is a 99k. The other one, according to the site, says it is a 105. I am going to get a magnifying glass to see if it is a centinial.

Your 99k is like my mother's which she bought in '57. It was a big day at our house to have this beautiful new machine. I use it sometimes, and it still sews like the day she got it.

I was serious if you decide you want to sell one let me know. send me a PM ok?

Yep,I have the 99k, cabinet and all. Dh cleaned it up and it runs like a dream. I just haven't found the time to use it! Your one pic is a 99, can't decide on the other one, but they both will pay for their keep! That is for sure!

Beautiful machines, if you have room for them it would be good to keep them. lostn51, Billy on this board will help you get them going, or tell you where to take them. I'm afraid if you sell them, later you will be regretting it.
