Small Wallhanging - Ruched flowers

This is a small wallhanging that I made for a gift. The flowers and handle of the basked are ruched.

Beautiful wall hanging. Are the flowers hard to make? Thanks for sharing.

That is just beautiful! What a clever idea for the basket handle! Whoever is getting this is mighty lucky!

Beautiful. Did you ruche by hand or machine? I just watched a video yesterday where the person was doing it by hand, but I wondered if a 3 step zigzag would accomplish the same thing?

The flowers were done by hand. Ruching is actually very easy. There are some videos on the internet that shows you how to do it.

Ruching is a way of gathering fabirc. For the flowers, I started with circles...Then, a zigzag stitch around the edge, and then gather it in a circle. Turn over and attach to fabric..then, start coming up from the bottom of the fabric, and then back down in the same place. Do this over and over again..and you will have a ruched flower..
