Son's quilt finally done
2 Attachment(s)
I had a lot of fun piecing this quilt. I loved watching the pattern emerge. I really do not like the "quilting" process so it sat around for a couple of months waiting for me to finish. I refused to start another quilt until I got this one finished. I finally got tired of not working on something fun so I pushed my way through and "got er done". The picture taken outside doesn't do justice to the colors. The quilt looks more like the picture taken on the bed. There really is a difference between the reds--for some reason the picture in the sun doesn't show the variations.
Thanks for looking. |
Great quilt! The depth is better on the bed and that's where you will see it most of the time.
oh wow! I love this.
Beautiful job......Looks great
Beautiful. I always finish one before I start another. If I put one aside, I doubt I would ever go back to it.
very nicely done, indeed. i've never seen this pattern with a double middle
I like the way you did this pattern in reds - I've only seen it in multi-colored versions.
Very nice, love the inside view the best. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful quilt. I love the blend of reds!
This is beautiful. This is a variation of the pattern "outside the box" isn't it? But like ArtsyOne stated, "I have never seen one with the double boxes in the middle." Can you tell us where this pattern can be purchased? Thanks in advance. Also, would it be possible to take a closeup of just a few blocks?
Really love this.
love your colours
I got the pattern off of one of the tutorials on this board. I w
ill try and take some better pictures and post later. |
I did the double middle because I didn't want the quilt to be square. the tutorial on the board just tells you how to make the blocks but not the placement. I put the pieces on my design wall until I came up with something I liked. I want to do this pattern again and I think I have a different placement figured out so that it won't just be a square but it won't be a double middle either. if I ever get around to the project I certainly will post it

I love the red on red tones. Looks amazing.
I Really Love It!! Just my colors and great job on a cool pattern.
Awesome quilt!
Beautiful quilt. Nicely done.
Very nice - I love red/black together!
Wow that is awesome, I love the colours.
Love the different reds! I know how that feels to not want to finish a quilt but forcing yourself to do it before starting on something else. Good job!
All I can say is "beautiful".
I love the way it looks on the bed.
Lovely quilt. Does look better on the bed than outside. You did a great job.
What a difference in the 2 pictures, lighting sure changed the whole quilt image, I like both. the one on the bed is very beautiful. thanks for sharing
Absolutely terrific quilt.
The reds are over powered by the brightness of the green grass. Makes the quilt seem subtle. But with it on the bed as it should be, the quilt stands out. Looks like an illusion on the bed.
I really like this quilt. Your son will really enjoy it. I have to make a quilt for each son this fall after we get back from our summer trip. Have them planned but that is as far as I have gotten.
great quilt
Very nice. I am sure your son loves it...
Your quilt is quite stunning. Congratulations on finishing one project before starting on another, that's something I have trouble with.
It's a real beauty. Good job getting yourself over the hump to finish it - I have to deal with that in myself too!!
Beautiful quilt...great work. Your son is one lucky guy!
It is simply beautiful!!! Looks awesome on the bed!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Very cool! Love the colors.
Very nice - I admire you working on one project at a time. I usually have 5 - 8 in progress at any one time. I work on whatever calls me at the moment - depends on whether I want to piece, quilt or do handwork. Very nice.
Nice quilt.
