Here's my 3rd attempt at the Bow Tuck and I'm still not thrilled with how they look.

I think I'm going to have to make the solid color at the bottom a little shorter so more of the top fabric shows.

I also think I'm going to shorten the handles a little bit.

If anyone has a better snappy bag layout / directions than the one on Tattered Garden I'd sure appreciate that also as they seem like they could look better but I'm stumped as to how to do it at this point.

Here's the first 2 I did (twin cows, lol) and I like them more since the fabric was "tweedy" rather than cotton I think...it gave them more body.

Stitching around the top by the handles is awful though since it's so thick with the batting, any suggestions from y'all would be terrific also.

I have not sewn one but love the "twins".

Love your Bow tucks I sometimes cut the batting in half for the handles that makes them less bulky! Just iron in to the middle of the handle piece!

i think they all look great

They look fine. I use my walking foot when I do the thick parts. It makes it a lot easier!

Very nice!

thanks so much ... I guess I'll have to see if I even have a walking foot for my Pfaff... I just ordered the applique & open front quilting feet but haven't tried them out yet

I like your purse.I like my handles longer so they will go over my shoulder.I have a Pfaff 1475 and have no problem sewing the purse.I make those snap bags all the time.Connie in CO
