String Star
 

I posted this in reply to another thread called "How do you feel about strings" and it should have been a post to Pictures....I didn't mean to hijack another thread!

Here's a string star top that I just completed yesterday. I wish I could give credit to someone for the unique setting, but I can't find the reference where I saw a picture of it....on a blog somewhere, I'm sure. No pattern, just pictures of this setting in a more scrappy style. Last year was pretty stressful for me and I would just escape to the sewing room with my drawer of strings and an audiobook. I ended up with 24 red/light blocks and 24 blue/light blocks! All 10.5 inches, pieced on muslin on the diagonal. So this finished out at 64 inches square and used only 10 of those blocks. Only 38 more to use up!! And the string drawer is full again.
