Strip Quilt Full of Problems But Done at Last

It seems like months ago that I asked for help with a strip quilt I started and regretted the method almost at once. I had a gigantic bin of strips that I got at a tag sale at the home of a fabric designer. I just started sewing them together without a foundation. Big mistake. Once I finally had some squares together, I started to quilt and my machine promptly died. The intention was a fast throw to protect new furniture from my furbabes. Well, months later the thing was draped over my banister and I just wanted it DONE. I cheated and serged the edge. This was a learning curve and I will tell you that I learned a lot about what NOT to do! As for keeping the furbabes off the furniture, well, as you'll see, that didn't work out too well. *sigh*

Love the quilt.. I sure wish you would give me a hint when there is a fabric tag sale on our island.. You can't possibly buy all that they are selling..
Is the furbaby a puggle?

I like the colors and design. Don't be too hard on yourself. Blessings.

It looks good. I made the same error in omitting the foundation, if that is any consolation to you. Yes, we sew things without foundations all the time, but they are a major help in any form of string piecing or other crumb quilt. I think it is faster with them too because you know how close to finsihed you are without measuring.
