Suggestions for Hungry Caterpillar
1 Attachment(s)
Our local quilt store has some of the hungry caterpillar fabrics in and I really want to do something with them. I want to do something small and this is what I have come up with in EQ. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions, particularly for the 8 blocks within the quilt. (I also plan to add the antenna just didn't do it in EQ)
As of the other day the store had these fabrics from the line (I am open to adding other coloured fabrics that aren't from the line as well): http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/...471-Mp-450.jpg http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/...3474-M-450.jpg http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/...3476-G-450.jpg http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/...3477-B-450.jpg http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/...5281-M-450.jpg (I plan on using this one for the backing, tried to incorporate it into the front but the pattern is so big for such a small quilt I thought it fit better on the back) http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/...5282-M-450.jpg I am hoping they still have them all tomorrow when I go in, fingers crossed!!! |

That is SO cute! I love what you've done with the design and the fabrics. I think I like the solid frames best too. I hope you're able to get the fabrics you need!

Both versions are so cute! I like both versions. I think you will need to decide what sort of look you prefer. Can't wait to see what you decide. Thank you for sharing. :)

I like second one with plainer fabric. Oh and the antennas. It's really cute.

Former primary teacher -- have read this book to class hundreds of times -- kids cant get enough of this story. Have always stopped to look at any Hungary Caterpillar quilt pictures and this one is my favorite by far. Great design job -- my personal preference is for the solid colored boxes. But some lucky child will love it to death either way.

So cute! The second is much cuter in my opinion. This is the best design I've seen for those fabrics and it almost makes me want to make one. ;)
|
Definitely love the second one a bit better. Love the Hungry Caterpillar!

Purchased the fabric, had to change the color scheme a little. (the colors on the little borders were being given to me by a friend that had leftovers from her Hungry Caterpillar quilt, she didnt have the colors I had planned for, so the boxes will be orange, purple, green and blue) The caterpillar is also a different color because I was mistaken and they didn't have
http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/...3476-G-450.jpg in the store, the green I bought is a bit darker but matches the caterpillars color more accurately. I also washed ironed and cut out the fabric tonight, going to take a break for a late dinner and then might start sewing on it :) |
Cute--like the solid colors better!
