I've got lots of WIPs going (and strewn around the living/sewing room), but here are a couple completed projects and a new quilt block.

The patriotic table runner and coffee cozy are Christmas gifts. I've since finished the coffee cozy, but that picture came out blurry. It fits a typical disposable coffee cup perfectly and will be accompanied by a Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks giftcard. The embroidery is in a sage-ish green, matching the inside/back material. Sadly these pictures make the colors look dreary and dull...but hopefully you get the idea.

And here's a new quilt block. I love the colors! I don't like the pattern on the ivory fabric (and I don't have enough for the whole quilt anyhow) so I'll be buying some solid ivory soon. My FIL will be making me a 3 1/2" plexiglass stencil to make the fussycut center easier. I'm also looking for a good burgundy/wine color fabric that coordinates too, but I think I'm off to a good start. :)

Pretty table runner! Like the cup cozy too. I like the pattern on the ivory fabric.

I'm planning on it being a twin sized quilt for a future guest room or little girls room (neither of which do I have at the moment  ). It's destined to be a WIP for a long time.

Your runner is beautiful! What is the name of your quilt design? I like your choice of colors.

The pattern for the quilt block is found here: http://quilterscache.com/Q/QuatrefoilsBlock.html

I first saw it here http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/9912.page and decided to use some fabric I'd gotten a few years ago.

You have been really busy. I think your mom is going to be tickled to death with the table runner. The tea cozy for your dad is a nice idea too-men are so hard to shop for. Great job on all your projects.

barnbum 09-03-2008 05:34 PM

Wow--excellent!! You pick nice stuff!! Then you make nice stuff!! What's the runner pattern called?

sewjoyce 09-03-2008 05:58 PM

Would you mind if I "steal" your idea? My daughter would simply love the table runner..... :?:

blahel 09-03-2008 06:20 PM

I lofe the table runner and the coffee cozy but the block is awesome. I could see an entire quilt there easily. Do you design blocks often?

Quilt4u 09-04-2008 02:09 AM

Wow! That is realy nice. What a great idea.

reneebobby 09-04-2008 02:34 AM

Haha - of course not! Esp since I "stole" the idea from my quilt shop. :) I'll get back to you, barnbum, with the pattern name. It was very easy to put together.

sondray 09-04-2008 05:36 AM

Welcome from VA. Great job on everything!

Bevanger 09-04-2008 08:38 AM

I like them all. Great Job!

sewnsewer2 09-04-2008 01:20 PM

Don't you just love this pattern? It's so easy.

You did a wonderful job on it and the colors too!

Jim's Gem 09-04-2008 02:48 PM

those are all great!! what did you use to line the tea cozy? Did you use regular batting or something special for the heat? I have thought about making some of those as well and giving as small gifts with gift card as well. I saw a kit a Connecting threads for cup cozy's that was pretty too. I may order a kit just to have the pattern and idea on hand.

Renae McClain-White 09-04-2008 03:55 PM

The table runner is really nice! which pattern did you use??

Renae in CA :D

Yes, I used regular batting. And I didn't buy a kit or pattern, just grabbed an extra cardboard holder thingie from Starbucks. Laid it flat, added a 1/4" seam allowance, sewed (with right sides together and batting on top) around leaving a gap and turned right side out. I've seen some with fun floral materials on both sides, or with a person's name embroidered on a solid fabric...the possibilities are endless. :)
