A Gift for a friend - I added pockets so that it can be used as a wall hanging if prefered!

That is so wonderful. I love it. Is that your own creation or did you have a pattern? So neat how you used the flying geese pattern for the loon, the bear paw for the bear and I'm not sure of the fish one. I am using that same green border fabric in a twister wreath.

Very pretty. You did a wonderful job.
Lucky friend - well done.

Very pretty, lucky friend to get such a great tablerunner

This is the pattern the blocks are from. I have it in my to do pile. Have started accumulating fabric for it. |
Wonderful work
Wow! That is beautiful!
Thank you dungeonquilter for posting the link - isn't it a wonderful pattern! Thank you all for the kind comments. I would like one day to make the whole quilt but for the moment I am starting small. I am going to make some of those blocks up as placemats. I really enjoyed hand stippling the background. I liked that the traditional block matched the applique.
Ditto Kitsykeel....beautiful and very clever to "match" the applique to the pieced block ! Your friend is sure to be so pleased.
My SIL would love this! Great job!
nice for somebody that enjoys the out doors
Lovely gift and so thoughtful.
I realise I didn't give any background... my friend works for Fish & Wildlife, recently left Alaska where we met, so the pattern has particular reference to her time in Alaska. Salmon, bears and waterfowl represent Alaska as she will remember it!
Beautiful!!
Love the loon!!! Is the first block fish? Kinda hard to see at this angle but I like it!!!
Thank you all for your kind comments. Alfosa...the fish is Salmon.

I love it. I did the Alaska Quilt shop hop a few years back and have those patterns. I have always loved them... A table runner you say? I have a new project on my plate it seems!! Thanks for the inspiration.
Unbelieveable gorgeous!

Really unique. I would like to have it.
That is fantastic! I think I would use it as a wall hanging!
I love this!!
Lucky friend. Very nice and it would be great for a wallhanging. Did youhave a specific pattern?
Sooo lovely, such a lot of work!!! Well done!!! Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you all... Marla the pattern is called Northern Wilderness http://www.northernthreads.net/p-179...quilt-bom.aspx. I knew I had short amount of time to make my friend a gift, I wanted it to remind her of her time in Alaska, so I picked 3 blocks with the most relevance and made a tablerunner - though I added pockets in case she decided to hang it instead.
Oh, I hope I am the friend it's for! Ok so it's not for me, but I am sure your friend will LOVE it!
