Now tell me - How many of you have I heard tell the same story about all your quilting paraphenalia taking over the house....well check out my latest sewing room...I had recently taken over one of the bedrooms, balancing one single bed on top of the other to give me lots of space, but the lighting is really soft (Until taking up quilting I HATED bright lights!!) and tonight I had a brainwave..........talk about sitting on the throne   :!:

The 'throne' isn't that comfortable..but very convenient!!

Yep you guessed right...the ensuite shower room has halogen lighting and its great for stitching in the ditching!!!!!

Except it doesn't leave you much room to move around and stretch. I guess it isn't the only one in the house either!! It also does not look like a very comfortable chair. I think you need to buy a lamp or two!!!

sewjoyce 09-04-2008 01:37 PM

Hey, whatever works! You go girl!

beachlady 09-04-2008 01:41 PM

That is so funny Izy - just don't roll it into the toilet by mistake!!!!

Gayle ... I have sewing lamps but they get in the way when you are swinging the quilt about..and I am really in the mood this evening to get stuck in to the quilting...so a gal has to improvise!!

Hey Val...at least I don't have to go far to spend a penny...and there is only me home tonight so I get to do just what I like!!!

Craftybug 09-04-2008 01:52 PM

Izy you are to funny, at least if you got ot go and don't want to stop quilting just lift the lid.

patricej 09-04-2008 01:53 PM

tuck a little fridge under the sink ... replace the linens with your stash ... run a phone line.

you'll never have to leave.

beachlady 09-04-2008 01:55 PM

Great idea Patrice.

Moonpi 09-04-2008 02:22 PM

So funny! Talk about multi-tasking!

sandpat 09-04-2008 02:22 PM

Izy...too funny. And I thought I was the only creative one..I used to sew on top of the washer in the laundry room! I think yours is a better idea (unless you have only a 1 seater and someone else has to use it)..If I was "on a roll"..they'd just have to wait!!

For the 'first' time (seeing as I have to clean them all) - I am glad we have so many bathrooms....

Puts a whole new meaning to 'on a roll' and you get them 'quilted' too!!!

Patrice as you can see I have already cleared out all unnecessary items...I have been using the ironing board in there in the evenings...yes in Spain they still allow electric sockets in bathrooms...right next to the sinks so I could fit in a little fridge........No phone line.....but a big DO NOT DISTURB sign would be good:roll:

How about a fan? in such a tight space it seems to me it might get a bit hot and stuffy!!! Have fun!!!

Izy 09-04-2008 02:46 PM

There is a lovely breeze blowing through the villa tonight...its actually the coolest room in the house as it faces north and doesn't get any direct sunshine

Morning Terri...do you know thats a great idea, I was just thinking who's idea was it to put the shower blocks so close to the loo, I can't really get my table up close enough because of THAT bad design.....

Its great for singing along in there too - great acoustics as its all tiled lol!!

2 Doods 09-04-2008 03:17 PM

Does it have a lock on the door? So you can really escape?

sandpat 09-04-2008 03:17 PM

I can see that you are really enjoying yourself Izy. I really like your "upgrad"

Chele 09-04-2008 03:36 PM

Spectacular! And you don't have to go far for potty breaks. Brew some coffee or pour some wine! There's quilting to be done!

Better keep a can of air freshner close by.

No way!! There has been an official change of use application made to the local town Hall...the only smell in there is the lovely scent of fabric and machine oil.....lol!!

Harmony 09-04-2008 04:46 PM

Quilt4u 09-04-2008 04:54 PM

Thanks for the compliments on the quilt quilt4u, but just in case you missed the beginning.....this is just in the evenings..I have taken over the bedroom but the lighting is poor....so I trundled by table along abit into the bathroom as it has great lighting in there

It will be all back into the bedroom before bed which should be soon seeing as it is now 3.15am here!! (Just as well by sewing table is on wheels  )

thimblebug6000 09-04-2008 05:39 PM

That's gotta be the bestest seat in the house! What a hoot....gotta share this with DH when he gets home. Thanks for the pictures!

mgshaw 09-04-2008 05:53 PM

Izy 09-04-2008 06:08 PM

Like Terri says, you gotta do what you gotta do....one border and its all quilted...phew feels like I have been on a sponsored quilting challenge :D

It will certainly be a talking point when I mentioned that I did all the quilting whilst sat on the loo tee hee!!!  :!:

ScubaK 09-04-2008 06:58 PM

Do they not allow electrical outlets in the bathroom in the UK? My boss is having one of his bathrooms remodeled & was telling me today that they added an outlet by the second sink! And the new marble or granite (he can't remember what his wife picked) counter top will be like 90 inches long!!! Bet there would be LOTS of room to quilt in there

Izy 09-04-2008 11:31 PM

Wow that sounds like one HUUUUUUUGGGGGEEEEE bathroom, does he live in a mansion??????

No, they haven't allowed electric sockets for as long as I remember in the U.K. health and safety issues...hairdryers and baths etc., do they in The states???

Glad I gave all you guys and gals a giggle...I certainly gave myself a good laugh all evening
