I have a friend/colleague, for whom I make a christmas present each year. This year it is late (I won't see her until next monday). My plan was to make her a tea cozy, for which I had cross stitched her initial on a white background in blue thread because her kitchen was blue and white....keyword there....was. She has changed her kitchen to an Aubergene colour. I am now left with what to do. Any ideas?

What does Aubergene color look like? Sorry, I really don't know.

Your cross stitch is amazing, by the way!

Had to look up Aubergene Your cross stitch is so beautiful, I would just say make the rest of it white and let the cross stitch stand out.

don't see anything with a deep purple or eggplant color in it. Perhaps you can look closer to see. At first the color in the back looked good- but then I realized it's red and your pillowcase. :)

thats the problem....I don't have anything that colour in my stash, and I don't have enough time to get anything....so I am trying to think out of the box....something not for her kitchen, but still using the cross stitch

Ah - not for her kitchen. Maybe sew the cross stitch into a tote bag? You could then still use all the fabrics you have. Or a jewelry pouch?

Or maybe put a border around the cross stitch, frame it and she can hang it wherever she feels it fits. The cross stitch is really beautiful.

I think Cathy(isnthatodd) has a good suggestion of putting a border on the cross stitch , framing it and letting your friend hang it wherever. Love the cross stitching, you do beautiful work. I'm sure she'd appreciate anything and any color if she's a true friend because it was hand made by you.

Just frame it in white and give it to her. She will love it.

I agree. Because she is your friend, anything YOU do will be very special and treasured.
