I like to do small projects to take a break from quilting.Thread catcher was posted on QB. This was the pin cushion from H*LL but I finished it.Now that I look at the finished cushion I smile and curse at it at the same time. (:

how nice of you to take the time to do this and share it! It looks a little intimidating - I am not good with small things and fiddley stitching. But I love it. Some day ... maybe.

lollygagging 06-16-2012 11:25 AM

I love your teapot. I've seen the thread catcher before, but not your teapot. Great job even if it did take you to your wits end! Thanks for sharing.

Sibi 06-16-2012 11:50 AM

I love both the teapot and the thread catcher!! So darn cute! Will have to try the teapot one day :-) Thanks QuiltnNan for sharing the blog with the tutorial!

I find that most times I have a love/hate relationship with quilting! I understand your feeling completely!

nancy42 06-17-2012 05:39 AM

Where did you find the pattern for the teapot ?My daughter collects teapots as well as quilts.
I would love to make this for her. It's adorable !

ragqueen03 06-17-2012 05:43 AM

Love them both! the teapot is adorable but it does look challenging - you did a great job on it!

stichinluvr 06-17-2012 06:32 AM

I love the pincushion!!!!!!!!!! Is it a commercial pattern, or did you design it?

Pennyquilter88 06-17-2012 06:41 AM

The pin cushion is adorable and I can see why it might have been really hard to assemble. A friend gave me a thread catcher like yours. (I think they need to be larger though).

cpower 06-17-2012 06:47 AM

Really cute pincushion! I have the pattern for the thread catcher and made them for some of the ladies in my stitchers group! They loved them. Just right for hand sewing and putting all those little snips of thread while you are talking and sewing in a group. Not sure I would attempt the pincushion though!!!

StarofMoonDancer 06-17-2012 07:03 AM

Love this....Wanted one til you said it was the one from H......I will just admire yours I guess...Lovely
:):):):)

BuzzinBumble 06-17-2012 07:20 AM

Your little teapot may have tortured you, but the pain will fade with time and you can keep on smiling every time you see it! I have that pattern too and have been putting off trying it. Kudos to you Mary!

Jepo 06-17-2012 07:23 AM

Where did you get the pattern for the thread catcher and how can I get it. Great gift for the friends in 2 of my small quilt groups.

lbc 06-17-2012 08:34 AM

Thanks so much for the link to the pattern and tutorial. Absolutely darling pincushion.

solstice3 06-17-2012 08:34 AM

It is very pretty. Just think you survived hell. :-)

Raggiemom 06-17-2012 10:46 AM

I was wondering about the pattern for the thread catcher too, that's really cute.
