Fun idea! What do you fill them with. Think I could wash hard an old wool sweater. I love teacups! Have quite a collection. Google the bird feeder youtube sites. Teacup bird feeder youtube. Thanks for the lovely idea! Do you super glue the soft top to ceremac?

I filled the top with fiberfill because my wool fabric was just big enough to make a pouch to cover the top of the opening of the teacup using the saucer as a pattern for my circle. You could certainly use crushed walnut shells in the cup or emery if you wanted and cover it. I used hot glue to glue the fabric on the top, but the hot glue didn't work to glue the cup to the saucer so I had to get some all purpose craft glue from Walmart to glue the cup to the saucer.

Have you seen the teapot lamps someone makes on Etsy? The run about $100.00 but they are ultra cute. Unfortunately they are too fragile for my home where my cats regularly knock over lamps during the gymnastics.

Our church ladies made these and embellished them with ribbons, old jewels, buttons, ribbon roses. You can pick up cups at any thrift or Goodwill. There are also pins with hearts and flowers on the ends.. Great as favors for a Tea.

I made on that I use all time, I glued the cup to the saucer with E6000 craft glue from Wal Mart. I bought another set from the flea market but haven't made the other one yet.

I like them because they don't tip over like the tomato pincushions do.

Very cute. I haven't seen pincushions made from sweater fabric. At least it looks like knitted fabric. Does it work well? I have some sweaters that could be recycled/upcycled and these are so pretty, but I'm worried about sewing with it. Does it unravel when cut?
