About 8 or 9 years ago, I made teletubbie costumes out of lightweight nylon fleece for my daughter (who was 17) and her friend for Halloween. The colors were red, blue and neon green. I couldn't bear to waste the leftovers, so put them in a bag. I came across them earlier this summer and decided to make some lap robes for the senior citizen home. The backs of 2 are from a denim look sheet, and the 3rd from leftover flannel. The last one I bought in bulk because I liked it (fish). The appliques are an attempt to learn how to do machine work, but i don't have a satin stitch, so had to use zigzag. I don't suppose the recipients will care much. They were really fun to do.

What a good idea you had. And the colors will certainly cheer those folks up!

i don't understand why do you call them lap robes ? they look like lap quilts i think.

I think it's a local term, but lap quilt also works.

You're right! The recipients won't care if you used satin or zig-zag. Those are nice and colorful!
