What a special gift. Hello and welcome from an Iowa girl.

Thanks everybody. I wasn't sure what I would do with all those ties, but I'm glad you like them. It was fun to create and make someone happy.

Great idea and a beautiful remembrance for the family.

What a great idea and you are great for getting this done for the family. The ties with the picture is an awesome pattern.

My step dad just passed away a few weeks ago, and I have asked my mom for all his ties .. I wanted to make a memory wall hanging for his son, John, who loved his dad dearly.. I will have some beautiful ties to use, and thought the dresden thing would be first choice in deciding how to use them.. Then I saw your memory quilt here ( thanks to my friend who sent me here ), and knew it was perfect for memoralizing my step dad in this way.. I am sorry for your loss, too... but so proud of you for creating a legacy of love for your family members.

I love these creations! do you mind me asking how you attached the ties to the fabrc?

I made nine wall hangings from his ties with his picture in the middle of each ring of ties. Delivered them last week, and they absolutely loved them. Attaching a picture of what they would have looked like as a quilt just laying them beside each other. One by itself that read Richard's Ties and the date of his birth and death.

They are wonderful. They would have made a nice quilt, but now more family can have him close.
