So very very beautiful and lovely quilting too. Maybe one day I'll be that skilled. Well done and a Happy New Year from over the water.

Here in Ireland, all the Christmas decorations stay put until Little Christmas (Nollaig na mBan-women's Christmas) on January 6th. That's the "official" end of Christmas. It's the Feast of the Epiphany. It's way too early to put away a gorgeous quilt like that.

How pretty. I am glad you thought to take a picture and show us before putting it away until next year. You can post it again then as we will probably all forgotten about it, not to mention all the newbies we will have who didn't see it this time.

That's beautiful! I always leave mine on until after Jan. 1st. All the Christmas things get put away the first or second week of January.

jojosnana 12-27-2010 10:16 AM

Very pretty and a lovely addition the the Christmas decorations. Leave it on the bed till New Year.s

Cuddly Quilter 12-27-2010 10:18 AM

This is so stunning. I just love the vibrant rich colours. Beautiful blocks and applique. I would rather keep it out for longer to enjoy it more then put it away

I celebrate Christmas until then. The Feast of the Epiphany is the Feast of the Wise Men which is a very important day. I would keep this beautiful quilt out until this date. Happy New Year!

Its just the high point of the Christmas celebration and season... Isnt Christmas until at least past the middle of January ?

Yes, according to the liturgical year Christmas season goes until The Feast of the Baptism of Christ, January 13th. But some will follow the traditional Twelve Days of Christmas which starts on Christmas Eve and goes until the Feast of the Epiphany, January 6th.

Boscobd 12-27-2010 08:24 PM

Beautiful! You should enjoy it a little longer tho! Even tho I put away all the Christmas decorations the day after Christmas, I do leave out my Christmas quilts (and dishes) thru the end of January - just because they are so pretty!

Dollysquiltingmom 12-27-2010 08:25 PM

Very pretty!!!!

np3 12-27-2010 08:25 PM

Very pretty. I would leave it out until the New Year!

Tweety2911 12-28-2010 06:37 AM

Beautiful. I agree, leave it on at least through New Year's day. Too pretty to put away yet.

OmaForFour 12-28-2010 07:15 AM

The Christmas season (according to my Pastor) lasts til Epiphany which is Jan. 6. You could have it out til then.

judykay 12-28-2010 07:25 AM

Why not call it a winter quilt and leave it out, it is just too beautiful to put away and not enjoy. I made a 12 Days of Christmas wall hanging a few years ago and so I can enjoy it longer I put it up the day after Thanksgiving and don't take it down until after the fist of the year. I also collect ceramic Christmas Trees and have them on my antique sewing machine in a winter setting that I leave up with my snowmen all winter. I call it a winter scene of evergreen trees not Christmas trees after the holidays. You can do the same with your quilt, it is just so pretty. GOOD JOB.

iltoaz 12-28-2010 07:58 AM

Pretty - I'd leave it out for a while longer; just to look! Thanks for sharing.

intoquilting 12-28-2010 09:48 AM

I have a snowman quilt that I put on when the Christmas quilt is taken off. I leave the snowman quilt on until the end of Jan. and sometimes if snow is on the ground in Feb. I leave it a little longer. Thanks for the compliments.
