my mom has just recently gotten back into quilting, she can turn out a top a month since she has nothing else to do but she says sometimes it makes her sad because she misses her mamma so bad, they spent a lot of time together making quilts. I told her to concentrate on the good memories. Here are a few of her tops and a couple of Grandma's

I think said this one was called Cumberland, it was in a magazine

and this is just Flying Geese

this is just called Bricks, we saw it on Fons and Porter

Those are beautiful!

My first reaction to the last quilts description was "JUST flying geese?"

What a feast for the eyes with so much variety of colors and blocks! You are certainly one talented family, it must be in the genes! It's hard to decide but I think the building blocks' quilt is my favorite. Thank you for posting these beautiful quilts. I am always filing away ideas for future quilts in my brain.......

Oh, Kathy..........those are wonderful treasures! So wish I'd had the chance to get one of the ones my grandmother did.

Tell your mom it's going to better to think of all her mother taught her and shared with her than to dwell on the fact she's not sitting in the opposite chair. She's still watching of that I'm sure.

Thanks for sharing, Sweetie!!
