Triple 4 Patch for SIL, in Vintage Fabrics
1 Attachment(s)
My sister-in-law sent me some scraps from her late mother's stash. I've been wanting to make a quilt for her for more than a year, but the fabrics were such a strange combination, I couldn't think of the right scrappy. I saw a Triple 4 Patch in Fons and Porter, and modified it to work with what I had. The sashing and border are new, as well as a few patches, but some of this was 36" wide, so is at least from the 70's, some is as late as 1998 when her mom died. She doesn't know I've made this, will ship it off to Boston today, it should be a nice surprise.

I have seen one up close and it is a VERY impressive quilt! Hmmm, should I put another quilt on my long 'to-do' list. |
