The border is just perfect! The whole quilt is for that matter!

You sew strips of dark and light fabrics together. Then you cut triangles out for the pinwheels. Every other triangle has large dark on the bottom for the pinwheels. then every other triangle that is left has dark at the point and the light is the larger piece. Those leftover triangles are used for the border.

Another beautiful quilt!!!
|
i love it. you sure have been busy....... or are the quilts you've made in the past?
|
just lovely! do you pick them up at random or do you plan where each hex will go, by color? |
Oh I get it! The ones on the border are the tips of color that is left over from the spinning stars. Very clever pattern with no waste. I like that.
|
where in the world did you find it? i looked everywhere and couldn't find it at all. there all kinds of patterns with that name, but none that resemble yours!

These are quilts I have made in the last two years. The Twist and Turn and Out of My Depression I quilted myself and I just finished them 2008.

hello everyone,
i just posted amma, but i know she won't do this. she's much too shy! hehe! since amma designed this quilt and there are so many other blocks called 'twist and turn', i vote that we call this 'amma's chain' from now on (other suggestions very welcome but i feel it should reflect the designer). this is how blocks get names, right? |
AMazing looking quilt. You make it sound so simple. I will have to check out that web site. Don't hold your breath. Piecing and I don't get along to well.
|
gorgeous quilt, love the border.
|
