Two Double Diamonds Holiday Wallhangings

4 Attachment(s)
I saw these patterns in the LQS last Spring and just had to make them. The first one is of the Christmas Star and the second is of the Christmas Tree.

Those are so sharp.

Diane007 08-16-2012 07:01 PM

very interesting...

ruthrings 08-16-2012 08:53 PM

I've never seen any thing like these! What was the process? They're really neat!

Merivale 08-16-2012 11:04 PM

Can see why you had to make them they are really interesting and I just want to get up close and see how they are made. They will be a treat to get out at Christmas time year after year, you will never get sick of saying with pride " I made them".

Lorraine Simon 08-17-2012 02:45 AM

Amazing. Love them both.

quiltinggirl 08-17-2012 04:19 AM

Very pretty!

Delta 08-17-2012 04:55 AM

did you applique them on? looks really cool. I don't see any seams in the close up (on the blue) thx

BSKTLOFR-QUILTER 08-17-2012 05:03 AM

The Christmas tree is my favorite, although I suspect the star probably is more impressive as when you can physically see it. Job well done. Take a bow.

blondeslave 08-17-2012 05:53 AM

Very pretty!

I made them with the Double Diamonds Ruler. You take two pieces of fabric and fuse them, wrong sides together, and then fold them in half, line the ruler up on the fold and make a few slits. Then, the diamonds just fold down. They were super easy!

This is new for me too...very nice effect!

DebbieG 08-18-2012 04:14 AM

I purchased the Double Diamond Ruler last year. Made a notebook cover using them and really haven't made anything else with it. Makes me want to haul it out and do something new with it.....course that's AFTER I clear up some of my UFO's and Christmas projects!!

bibi 08-18-2012 05:52 AM

Very nice job

nunnyJo 08-18-2012 09:14 AM

Lynneander 08-18-2012 01:08 PM

Love the simplicity of color and how it enhances the design ... gorgeous!

Are they washable?
My sil would love that on the lap quilt I have promised her/

pattypurple 08-18-2012 04:25 PM

I MUST get my rulers out. It has been a while since I made anything with them. Your projects are fantastic

I don't believe so, but it's been a while since I looked at the pattern, so I'm not sure. I'm a bit bedridden at the moment, waiting for pain killers to kick in, so I can't check the pattern tonight, but I'll try to remember in the morning.

Jill B 08-18-2012 04:38 PM

Beautiful job! They look tricky.

KwiltyKahy 08-18-2012 10:35 PM

These are beautiful. I'm going to have to look for that pattern.

dahlshouse 08-19-2012 01:09 PM

Those are very cool... Might I ask what the pattern is called... and maybe where to find?

jojosnana 08-19-2012 01:30 PM

Very pretty. What process did you use? Are they kits?

I found the pattern at my LQS, but you might be able to find them at the Double Diamonds website. I know they have patterns there, I believe.
