...a.k.a. the plan that didn't come together.

This is the kaleidoscope quilt top I've been working on, and was looking for quilting ideas (earlier topic).
I was going for a scrappy red/white/blue, and as far as that goes, I'm very happy.
What I'm unhappy with is the fact that I had to trim some blocks to the degree that the points of the wedges are swallowed up in the seam allowances. I guess my sewing wasn't quite accurate enough, even though I planned things pretty carefully.
I need to put the borders on yet....I plan on a medium width red print inner border, then a narrow width white print border, than a wide width blue print border, and possibly a red binding.
I need to save up the funds for the outer border, binding and quilting.....that could take awhile.
If anybody has any quilting ideas, I'm still wide open to suggestions!
Thanks for looking!

This came together well--very eye appealing.

That is a beautiful quilt and I am anxious to see the final results. I just commented on another red, white and blue fund raiser quilt, too. They are so nice. I had planned to collect all of my red, white and blue fabric together today and see how much I could come up with for a pattern for a quilt to keep in our SUV. This is a beautiful idea. Thank you.

Such an intriguing design - always seeing something new in the pattern - like how you used the colors.

I don't see what you're talking about -- it looks pretty well put together to me! Nice job, and it's going to be beautiful when it's finished. So much going on with the changing patterns.

You did a great job, there is no evident "goofs" Really love the colors and designs that blends so well.

Please post when you get it completed.

That is awesome. I love how the colours work together and the secondary pattern the blocks make. I think I would try to do something to make the large circle pattern stand out and follow those lines to quilt it in the ditch or an echo stlye. As for what you see as errors.....don't see them. The pattern does well to hide what you see as your imperfections.
