My quilt made it to the semi-finals but did not go on from there. I feel that just getting in to the AQS show in Des Moines is an honor that I am very proud of. Thanks for the kind wishes and excouragement. I am excited to get this far!

Tartan 10-04-2012 05:12 AM

It is quite an honor to make it to the semi finals, congratulations. When I look at the quilts in the major shows I am amazed by the skills displayed.

Grandma Bonnie 10-04-2012 05:15 AM

Congratulations! Your quilt is beautiful!

dogsgod 10-04-2012 05:21 AM

Really neat quilt! Subtle colors, but stunning construction, makes one want to keep looking at it to see what else they might find!

PaperPrincess 10-04-2012 05:27 AM

I've loved this quilt from the first time you posted it a while back. The colors! The Texture! I just signed up for a fabric manipulation class at my LQS. It's in two weeks and I can hardly wait! I wanted to get a shirring foot for my Viking, but it was big $$$. I found a Singer 99 clone at the Salvation Army for $10 and the shirring foot from my old treadle works on it! The treadle machine itself does not work, so for $10 I got a dedicated ruffler!

I can't stop looking at this quilt. It is pretty and interesting. If it were mine I would display it in a special place in my home. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

debs 10-04-2012 08:10 AM

Well, personally I think it should have gone farther, but from the quilt shows I've attended it seems like brighter colors are more popular.

lue 10-04-2012 08:19 AM

That is sooooo pretty!

jillnjo 10-04-2012 08:22 AM

You did the finest of jobs!! So much talent and creativity in the quilt.

DebbE 10-04-2012 08:23 AM

In my opinion, your quilt IS a blue ribbon winner -- its absolutely gorgeous! I admire you for being able to submit it, too. If I had a quilt like that I'd probably hang it, as its an art piece. Beautiful!

I have never seen a quilt done using the way you did. That had to be some serious computation for yours not to have one. Looks like a winner to me. The colors are so tranquil. It is really beautiful.

Helen S 10-04-2012 11:07 AM

You should be proud! It's beautiful, and I can see that a lot of thought and planning went into the finished quilt.

QUILTNMO 10-04-2012 11:08 AM

very nice!!!!

sylviak 10-04-2012 09:06 PM

Beautiful! It looks like a community of fields, flower gardens, roads and hedges. The colors are subdued, but oh so pretty! I'd enter it in a few more shows, so people can see the work put into it, then display it on a wall in your home.

earthwalker 10-04-2012 09:09 PM

It is a beauty. Well done for submitting it and doing so well.

I now have a Pfaff so I have a perfectly good Viking ruffler (tag says 64.99) that I wish to sell for much less. Contact me if interested.
