Very Bright rainbow Quilt

1 Attachment(s)
Another DGD wanted a rainbow quilt. I was planning on making a very complicated pattern with 15 degree wedges and swirling one way and then another. Christmas Eve my DGD said, "Can't it just be straight?" Well, sure, why not? Afterall, it's her quilt, and a straight rainbow would be a lot easier to make!
This is my own pattern. It's just 6" HSTs with a 4" border. The flying geese in the 2 corners are 2" X 4". The quilt is about 54" sq. Hope you like it.

That is so cute and just the way your GD wanted it makes it perfect.

The best part is she gets the quilt you made for her. Isn't it amazing how we want things perfect in our eyes, yet the person receiving it will adore it even if it is Straight(which is perfect in HER eyes). It's pretty and she will love it!!!!

It looks great! Isn't it funny how you can see their personalities developing as they grow older.

How clever - and beautiful. My granddaughter would love it. She is forever drawing rainbows. I may have to steal your pattern.

By all means, help yourself!

SittingPretty 01-11-2012 06:22 PM

Funny, you all may have thought it was for a child, but she's almost 19. Well, don't we all have some "child" in us? That's why we like to play. (LOL) Thank you all for such wonderful comments. I sometimes follow a pattern, but never too closely. I always like to do it "my way." Think that's where my DGD gets it from? (LOL)
