I've been toying with the idea of taking all of you through my studio and gallery (my house). I've often wanted to respond to others pictures of their sewing rooms and stashes. From what I've seen, my stash is a bit different. I consider myself a scrapper. I buy remnants, half yards and fat quarters. Sometimes I even buy some yardage! but not often. And scraps, of course.
I've been quilting since the early seventies. I live by the rule that if I use it all up - then I won't have it anymore. In the first picture of this tour - you can see one of only a few "planned" quilts I've ever made. I believe that variety is the spice of life. There will be numerous installments to this post. I have a lot of the same little pieces - I do a lot of applique and need small scraps for it. I could shop from you very nicely! LOL

You are my inspiration, now I better get working on my sewing room, all the tubs of material, closets, shelves and other places I can stuff my stash. I am so impressed with your quilt along with your lovely stash and organization.

Wow and wow again. I guess I have had the idea all this time that is against the rules to be so organized!! Sure wish my fabrics were so nice and neat as yours are! Wish I had the place to put them to make them so nice and neat.

Can I go shopping at your house? :D ..I saw a color that I have been looking for..the teal lol..Picked up two different teals at stores and not a one match what I need ..I love how you have everything like that..Its really nice..

Those are really nice shallow drawers to hold those smaller amounts of fabric neatly folded. I have a dresser that has deeper drawers and I wonder how my yardage fabric would look folded in them. I'll have to experiment soon. |

You are SOOOO organized!!! I wish I could be like you. I make a mess. I can't help it...it just happens.

I make messes all the time! I get an inspiration and I pull enormous amounts of fabric out of the these nice neat drawers. And when I figure out what I really want to use - I put most of it away again. This method of storage was an absolute necessity 15 years ago when I left my husband and started on my refugee year. I needed to continue my passion in a portable way. Drawers work well.
